Locum MD (Medical Doctor);DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Gastroenterology
Description
We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Gastroenterology. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to our clients. Your expertise will be vital in diagnosing and treating patients with gastrointestinal disorders, contributing to the overall health and well-being of individuals in need of specialized care. You will be involved in a variety of gastroenterology projects, ensuring the highest standard of medical services.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough examinations and evaluations of patients with gastrointestinal issues.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients based on diagnosis.
- Perform endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and gastroscopies.
- Interpret diagnostic test results and provide appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
- Stay current with advancements in gastroenterology and incorporate best practices into patient care.
- Provide education and guidance to patients and their families regarding gastrointestinal health.
Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Gastroenterology.
- Valid state medical license to practice as a physician.
- Proven experience working as a Gastroenterologist.
- Excellent diagnostic and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Schedule: Occasional overnight (5p-7a) and weekend call shifts
Will cover multiple hospitals
Daily Volume: 10-15 procedures, 12-16 clinic patients
Will cover hospital rounding with APP support
Support Staff: 1 GI hospitalist, 3 outpatient GI physicians, APPs
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
