PacAero is seeking a CNC Operator to join our machining team in Agawam, Massachusetts. This position is responsible for operating CNC milling equipment to produce precision components that meet strict aerospace quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating multi-axis CNC milling machines, including equipment such as Haas or Okuma. Experience performing machine setup and first-piece inspections is highly valued, but we are also open to candidates who have strong machine operating experience and are looking to grow their skills.

Operators play a critical role in ensuring parts are produced safely, efficiently, and within required tolerances while supporting continuous improvement within the machine shop.

This position is located in Agawam , MA and is onsite, fulltime days, Monday - Friday. Manufacturing operations occasionally require additional production support to meet customer demand. Employees in this role must be available to work overtime as needed, which may include extended shifts, evenings, or weekend work when business demands require.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC milling machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and process documentation
  • Perform machine setups when required, including tooling changes, fixture installation, and first-piece runs
  • Conduct first-piece inspections and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements
  • Use available inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools to verify part accuracy
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain part quality and dimensional tolerances
  • Perform routine maintenance and care of CNC machine tools to support safe and efficient operation
  • Document machining processes and production activities to support repeatability and future reference
  • Identify and communicate any production concerns, equipment issues, or quality risks to the Machine Shop Manager or leadership team
  • Support efficient production by helping maximize machine utilization and maintaining steady production flow
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions that improve productivity, product quality, machining efficiency, and scrap reduction
  • Ensure the safety of yourself and others when working with cutting tools, CNC machines, and shop equipment
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment within the machining area
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and quality standards as outlined in the employee handbook
  • Attend meetings and participate in operational discussions as required
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Machine Shop Manager
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years Experience operating CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with multi-axis or 5-axis machining centers preferred
  • Familiarity with machines such as Haas, Okuma, or similar CNC equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Setup experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the team

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position operates in a manufacturing environment and requires the ability to safely work around machining equipment and production machinery.

Employees in this role may be required to:

  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Lift materials or components up to 40 pounds
  • Use hand tools and precision measuring equipment
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with machine noise and moving equipment
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
