UX Designer-AI Product Team

Job Title: UX Designer – AI Product Team Location: Remote (U.S. only) Work Authorization: Must be a U.S. Citizen to comply with federal regulations and security protocols Overview: This a great opportunity for a junior level designer to jump into the space of designing products that are centered on applying AI in the industrial software space. This will include (1) research on UX patterns associated to AI use cases (2) developing internal and customer-facing solutions including chatbots, administrative portals, and other features relevant to delivering AI in the enterprise, and (3) working with product teams to incubate new offerings for the market that combine data and agents across the digital thread (CAD, ALM, PLM, SLM) to generate new business for PTC. In addition to this innovation work, you will also get the opportunity to work with a seasoned designer, providing an opportunity to develop your core design skills. We are looking for someone who is foremost passionate about PTC’s vision and AI-based technologies, and at the core has a good sense for design practices – visualization, interactions, user empathy, research-based decisions, etc. Responsibilities: Areas of focus: Est. Time- UX Design (80%) : Support and deliver the creation of UX design artifacts; including requirements gathering, use case definition, interaction design and user flows, prototyping, and visual design execution. Collaborate with, and support, senior team members while helping ensure consistency and usability across products. Assist in documenting AI usage guidelines, standards, and specification definition.
- Cross-functional Collaboration (10%): Participate in design critiques, reviews, and working sessions with product UX and engineering teams to gather feedback and align on shared goals.
- Team Culture (10%): Engage in team rituals, mentorship opportunities, and design-related events. Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.
- Demonstrated understanding of UX and UI design knowledge, including an understanding of user-centered design, design strategy, and UX best practices
- Familiarity with design systems, combined with a basic understanding of front-end development and web components
- Capable self-starter, strong collaboration, able to work interdependently, and perform tasks under minimal supervision
- Strong time-management and organizational abilities to handle concurrent tasks
- A keen eye for detail to ensure design consistency and quality across all core deliverables of the design system
- Desire to delve into emerging technologies like AI, with eagerness to discover and understand the impact and opportunities
Track record of working with designers, developers, and product managers to ensure cohesive design language and consistency. Support of UX quality assurance and user validation processes to ensure design components meet high standards of usability and accessibility. Strong team collaboration and interpersonal skills, yet self-reliant, resourceful, and able to work independently. Ability to utilize strong communication and collaboration skills while working in an agile UX process.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human Factors, or related field 1-3 years of experience as a UX Designer in:- web-based, mobile, and desktop software applications
- defining, developing, and documenting UX design and interaction requirements and specifications
- Sharable portfolio for evaluation
An understanding of user-centered design, design thinking, and UX best practices
PTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $87,800 - 113,250. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a performance-based bonus. Employees also have the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through our employee share purchase program (ESPP), which allows for the purchase of discounted PTC stock. Certain roles may also be eligible for participation in our equity programs.
