Role Description

The Test Infrastructure team at Form Energy is hiring a Senior ElectroMechanical Engineer for our Test Infrastructure team in Somerville, MA. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver battery test systems that enable the development of Form Energy’s multi-day batteries.

You will engage in cross development throughout the organization to understand end user and operational requirements and deliver robust solutions. What you'll do:

• Lead the design and development of advanced controls and automation systems for battery test infrastructure, focusing on cell testing.

• Contribute to electrical design of Form Energy’s battery test systems, including power distribution, sensor selection, harnessing, and data collection.

• Oversee the integration of control systems with test equipment, ensuring seamless communication and functionality between PLCs, HMIs, and other automation components.

• Formulate and implement automation strategies to streamline battery testing procedures, improve data acquisition, enable safe operation of test systems, and enhance overall system performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure solutions with project goals and operational requirements.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain system reliability and efficiency.

• Work closely with engineers, technicians, and project managers to support the deployment and maintenance of test systems.

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field with multiple 4+ years of related work experience, or a master’s degree and some related work experience in developing industrial test equipment.

• Proven experience in troubleshooting complex electrical systems including data acquisition and electromagnetic interference.

• Proficiency in eCAD packages like AutoCAD Electrical or RapidHarness, demonstrating the ability to create and manage complex electrical and mechanical designs.

• Excellent collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams, engineers, technicians, and project managers to support system deployment and maintenance.

Compensation Range: $128,662 - $168,844
