Direct Care Supervisor - Emergency Shelter

Location: Haverhill

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 3:30 PM-11:30 PM

Compensation: $23-$25/hr (based on experience)

Assignment: 13-week contract with strong potential for extension

About the Opportunity

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a respected non-profit organization in Haverhill, MA, to hire a Direct Care Supervisor for their high-volume emergency shelter serving over 40 adults each night. This role is ideal for someone dependable, solution-oriented, and passionate about supporting individuals facing homelessness.

As a Direct Care Supervisor, you will help lead shelter operations, support frontline staff, and ensure a safe and supportive environment for guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision, guidance, and leadership to Direct Support Professionals

• Support staff development through coaching, feedback, and ongoing training

• Ensure individualized service plans are implemented effectively

• Oversee staff scheduling, documentation, and adherence to agency policies

• Serve as a communication point for staff, clients, and families

• Respond to issues and concerns while maintaining a safe, supportive environment

Required & Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Valid driver's license

• Ability to pass CORI and driving record checks

• Able to climb stairs and lift/move up to 30 lbs

• COVID-19 vaccination required

Preferred (Not Required):

• 1+ year of supervisory experience

• Bilingual Spanish/English

• Experience working in human services, shelters, or residential environments
