Based in Brockton, Massachusetts, Atrenne is an innovative leader in system architecture for computing platforms, designing and manufacturing solutions for the military, industrial and telecom industries.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join our procurement team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods to support manufacturing and production processes.
This role requires an understanding of supply chain management, contract negotiation, and ERP systems to optimize procurement operations and contribute to overall business efficiency.
Experience in a discrete manufacturing environment with production planning experience a plus. Familiarity with industry quality standards (ISO, UL, RoHS, AS9100) is preferred.
The Buyer will be responsible for purchasing of materials, components, equipment and services, performing the following duties:
Inventory & Planning

Maintain optimal inventory levels for indirect and production materials.

Sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and delivery.

Work with suppliers to determine discounts and negotiate best pricing, terms, negotiate volume discounts,
and consignment inventory as necessary/available to reduce inventory and costs.

Review MRP results and process purchase orders per defined plan in the ERP system.

Provide inventory support as required.
Compliance & Documentation

Ensure all purchasing activities comply with ITAR, DFARS, AS9100 and customer contractual
requirements.

Maintain complete procurement documentation and audit trails as required.
Supplier & Cost Management

Develop supplier relationships to improve service levels and cost efficiency.

Monitor supplier performance

Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users,
vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

Identify cost reduction opportunities through consolidation, alternate sourcing, and process improvements.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma required, but an associate or bachelor's degree (Business, Supply Chain, Finance) is preferred; 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
COMPUTER SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual is required to have knowledge of MS Office products: Word, Excel and Outlook. Use of Internet and ERP systems also required. Experience with Epicor system is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across departments such as manufacturing, quality management, and logistics. Strong negotiation and communication skills with internal & external customers/suppliers.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work model that incorporates a mixture of in-office and remote work in an employee's schedule.
