Position Summary:

We’re seeking an experienced friendly, reliable, and fishing-savvy Retail Assistant Manager or a person with drive to become the Assistant Manager. This is a great opportunity for someone who has deep fishing knowledge along with a love of talking fishing. Candidate must be knowledgably about tackle, enjoys helping customers, and sharing information. If you’re passionate about fishing and want to share that passion with others, we’d love to meet you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers with product selection and fishing-related questions
• Place merchandise orders with our suppliers
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on rods, reels, lures, bait, and other gear
• Line reels – mono, braid, core/with top shot, make umbrella and tuna rigs
• Operate the point-of-sale system (cash register), handle transactions, and issue receipts
• Maintain clean and organized store displays, restock shelves, and price merchandise
• Receive, unpack, and inventory shipments of gear and supplies
• Promote store events, local fishing updates, and customer loyalty programs
• Uphold a positive, welcoming atmosphere for all customers and fellow anglers

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of fishing (freshwater and/or saltwater) required
• Retail and customer service experience preferred
• Bonus if you’re familiar with local fishing conditions, gear types, or techniques
• Friendly, approachable, and willing to learn
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and organized
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
