Job Description Summary

The Administrative Coordinator for Bentley’s Student Equity and Inclusion (SEI) team plays a key role in supporting student success at Bentley. This role supports the four offices housed in SEI: the Center for International Students and Scholars (CISS), Spiritual Life, Multicultural Center (MCC) and Gender and Sexuality Student Programs (GSSP), with primary functionality centered in CISS and Spiritual Life.


The SEI Administrative Coordinator oversees front desk operations, manages a team of student employees, assists with budgetary and fiscal processing, coordinates scheduling for SEI departments, and provides programmatic and administrative support for SEI student-facing initiatives.


As a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) in CISS, the Coordinator supports maintenance of accurate immigration records and offers basic-level advising to F‑1 and J‑1 students and scholars.


Similar support is provided to our active Spiritual Life Office, managing a myriad of student support initiatives and administrative duties on behalf of our diverse religious and non-religious groups based in that center.


Central to this role is serving as a connection point and information hub for all four departments under the SEI umbrella. This position reports directly to the Associate Dean of Student Equity and Inclusion.

Essential Duties

Student Support & Front Desk Leadership

  • Supervise, train, and mentor teams of student employees.

  • Oversee daily front desk operations to ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and efficient environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

  • Provide high-quality customer service and guide students to appropriate resources.

Immigration Compliance & Advising Support

  • Serve as a DSO and ARO to update and maintain student and scholar records in Terra Dotta and SEVIS.

  • Provide initial immigration advising to F‑1 and J‑1 students and scholars regarding enrollment, employment, status maintenance, travel, and related processes.

  • Process immigration requests and ensure accuracy and timeliness of federal reporting.

  • Maintain current knowledge of federal immigration regulations, institutional policies, and international education best practices.

Programming & Engagement

  • Assist with designing and delivering events that promote academic success, cultural exchange, and community building.

  • Organize, implement, and support key programs. Examples of CISS programs include International Student Pre‑Orientation, International Education Week, International Student Peer Mentor Program, Tax filing support initiatives, immigration and employment workshops. Examples of key Spiritual Life programs include the Annual Interfaith Day of Service, the Bentley Bridge Builders interfaith fellowship, mindfulness and meditation programs and various weekly and seasonal gatherings of Bentley’s religious and spiritual communities.

  • Oversee reservation system for Sacred Space, and assist with room reservations for other SEI student lounge spaces

Communication & Outreach

  • Support ongoing communication with students and scholars through email, newsletters, social media, and other platforms.

  • Assist with content development, messaging, and distribution of critical information.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Manage office calendars (including anticipation of upcoming religious and international holidays), order supplies, and oversee the shared inboxes.

  • Support smooth daily operations and help maintain accurate office records and documentation.

  • Collaborate with campus partners and external stakeholders to support SEI initiatives and institutional goals.

Budgetary and Financial Assistance

  • Support budgetary compliance by assisting with monitoring overall spending

  • Assist with bill payments and processing of purchasing card validations

Additional Duties

  • Serve as a BentleyPlus advisor by attending role-specific trainings, facilitating advising sessions, and sending follow-up communications to advisees.

  • Participate in on campus committees as needed

  • Other duties, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (required for DSO/ARO eligibility).

  • HS Diploma / GED equivalent and 4 years of directly related professional experience or Bachelor's degree and 1 year of relevant experience including internships, student work, or other types of related experience.

  • Strong technical proficiency and experience managing data across multiple systems, including proficiency in social media. Examples of software include: Microsoft Office Suite, Canva or other Graphic Design software, Slate, Workday, Terra Dotta, and SEVIS.

  • Ability to learn and apply immigration regulations and operate related systems.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional service and creating a welcoming environment for diverse populations.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.

  • Ability to handle confidential information and work sensitively with individuals from diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds.

  • Ability to interpret and apply federal regulations and institutional policies.

  • Proven teamwork and collaboration skills.

  • Experience with or strong interest in supervising or mentoring student workers.

  • Experience with event planning or project coordination.

  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends.

Work Environment

  • Typical office environment with frequent sitting, standing, and walking.

  • Regular use of computers, office technology, and data‑entry systems.

  • Periods of extended computer-based work.

  • Occasional lifting or movement of materials related to office operations or event setup.

  • Regular business hours with extended hours during peak periods (e.g., orientations).

  • Occasional local travel or attendance at one‑day conferences or trainings.

  • Hybrid schedule permitted with approval

In alignment with the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act and our commitment to equity and transparency, we’re sharing the salary grade range for this role. The grade range is based on market data and the scope of responsibilities. Final pay will depend on your experience, education, and other relevant qualifications.

Salary Grade Range:

$25.82 - $41.55
