Clinical Director
The Center for Early Relationships Support (CERS) offers a comprehensive network of home visits, consultations, therapeutic sessions, and group programs to support parents and caregivers of infants and young children. Our services focus on building secure attachments between children and their caregivers which lays the foundation for healthy development. By nurturing the strengths of parents and caregivers, we promote strong, resilient family bonds. Originally founded to support the transition into parenthood, CERS now delivers intensive therapeutic services for families navigating attachment difficulties related to trauma, emotional changes, and life's many challenges.
Position Summary:
As a leader within the division, the Clinical Director for CERS champions the highest standards in perinatal and infant mental health across all programs. This role calls for a dynamic professional with deep expertise in Perinatal and Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) and Reflective Supervision, proven experience delivering impactful home and community-based services, and an unwavering commitment to nurturing relationships between caregivers and young children. Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical leadership and supervision for clinicians, supervisors, and others as appropriate
- Oversight and management of the operations of CERS integrated therapy services
- Consultation to other programs on clinical matters in CERS and JF&CS Mental Health Initiatives
- Collaboration across JF&CS to support services for families from other parts of the agency
- Leadership of training and professional development internally and externally with community partners
- Maintain current knowledge of emerging research and best practices in Perinatal and IECMH and translate findings into programmatic practices
- Evaluation and quality improvement of services across clinical programs
- Budget management of state contracts and other funding for clinical services
- Represent CERS to outside groups, including networking with community agencies, referral sources, program partners, regional and national Perinatal and IECMH learning communities and professional forums
Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Familiarity with tools, strategies, and literature on evaluating IECMH interventions
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team, conduct community outreach, and collaborate within an agency
- Commitment to serving families in vulnerable and complex situations and supporting a diverse workforce
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage complex situations with maturity, direction, and respect.
- Ability to be flexible in your approach, while still utilizing best practices.
Position Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Psychology or Master's Degree in Social Work or related field, with training in infant and early childhood mental health (IECMH), IECMH endorsement and/or PSI certification preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience working with postpartum women, infants, and families preferred
- Knowledge and experience working with parents in recovery preferred
- Experience with families with older children a plus
- Must have the ability to travel independently between Waltham and client/home visit locations as required
