The Senior Accountant plays a key role in overseeing the company’s day-to-day financial operations. This position leads the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams, manages cash flow, ensures accurate financial reporting, and partners closely with the Controller/CFO to support month-end close, commission tracking and external audits.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and support the AP/AR teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, collections, and cash applications.
• Manage daily cash flow, reconciliations, deposits, and disbursements.
• Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger.
• Monitor and reconcile commissions payable, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reporting.
• Coordinate third-party financial audits, ensuring accurate documentation and timely responses.
• Develop and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls and drive efficiency.
• Provide accurate financial data to support business decisions and operational needs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulations.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Experience in manufacturing, food processing, or seafood industry preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and advances Excel skills
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions

• Office-based position within a seafood processing environment.
• In-office role with eventual flexibility to work remotely 1 day per week.
• Some extended hours may be required during month-end close or audit periods.
