Principal Electronic/Software Engineer
This position is 100% on-site. There is no remote work available.
Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) Position Summary:Promote company growth by performing diversified engineering duties for and overall management of assigned major product lines. Ensure products are manufactured and assembled safely using lean principles to meet customer requirements. Coordinate the resources of various departments to identify and eliminate waste in a manufacturing environment to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of the product lines. Provide timely resolution of production issues in supporting the on-time and cost-efficient shipment of assigned products.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Provide technical sales support to the customer regarding product applications and specifications.
- Develop and maintain standard work used for production, and test of assigned products. This includes the precise work sequence, the necessary inventory, and the time allowed to meet customer demand (TAKT Time).
- Evaluate customer drawings and specifications to determine compliance of products to the same.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, and production personnel, to ensure smooth production operations and timely delivery of products.
- Participate in process improvement projects, utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, improve productivity, and enhance product quality
- Oversee design customizations and/or modifications including creating product drawings, component drawings, and routings.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve production issues and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the availability of quality materials & components. Resolve any supplier-related issues that may affect production of assigned products.
- Assume other projects or responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Experiences:
- This position requires a level of knowledge usually associated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
- Candidates must have 15 to 20 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Extensive experience with Syteline including advanced topics like Dataviews.
- Computer Aided Design (CAD) & General Computer experience are required. 3D CAD is a plus.
- Knowledge of Switch electrical circuit theory and or 3-phase and electric power systems is a plus.
- Experience with Lean concepts, 5S, Flow Lines, and Visual Manufacturing Processes preferred
- Six Sigma, SPC, and DOE experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment: Primary office and secondary manufacturing
