XPP Platform Design Engineer

: : The XPP Platform Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing robust technology solutions to facilitate the smooth operation of product pipelines and publishing services. The role will involve defining system specifications, planning and designing technology requirements, and communicating requirements to software development teams. You will provide technical leadership to development teams, and oversee the implementation of agreed-upon architectures. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring systems, organizing shared content, maintaining standards, and providing training and support to team members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and Develop XPP publishing pipelines: Plan and design the structure of a technology solution for XPP publishing pipelines for a shared XPP publish service.
• Design XPP Shared Services Specifications: Define system specifications based on appropriate requirements.
• Planning and Designing: Plan and design the structure of a technology solution for a shared publishing service.
• Communicating System Requirements: Communicate system requirements to software development teams.
• Evaluating and Selecting Software or Hardware: Evaluate and select appropriate software and virtual resources and suggest integration methods.
• Overseeing XPP publish Programs: Oversee assigned programs (e.g., conduct code review) and provide guidance to team members.
• Providing Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and support to software development teams.
• Solving Technical Problems: Assist with solving technical problems when they arise.
• Ensuring Proper Implementation: Ensure the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure.
• Monitoring Systems: Monitor systems to ensure they meet both user needs and business goals.
• Organizing Shared Content: Manage shared content to avoid redundancy and ensure that updates are propagated across all servers for relevant templates.
• Collaborating with Other Teams: Work closely with content creators, editors, and stylesheet programmers to ensure a smooth publishing process.
• Maintaining XML Standards: Ensure that all XML documents adhere to established standards and best practices.
• Training and Support: Provide training and support to other team members on the use of XPP and related technologies.
• Continuous Improvement: Continually evaluate and refine the information architecture to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Minimum Education

• Bachelor's degree in related field.

Minimum Experience

• 15+ years proven experience managing XPP and other publishing platforms.
• Strong understanding of SEC/Financial Services industry
• Demonstrated expertise in Composition and specifically XPP technology platform
• In-depth knowledge of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Ability to translate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Leadership abilities to provide guidance, mentorship, and technical direction to development teams and other infrastructure teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, and resolve technical challenges.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate technology solutions, assess trade-offs, and make informed decisions.
