Job Description
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a seasoned leader to join our dynamic Safety organization and lead a high impact team of security engineers and SREs. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the operational environment of one of the world's leading cloud service providers. As a manager within the OCI Safety team, you will lead and mentor a team of talented engineers, working closely with security engineers, product leadership, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure that our production cloud environments remain safe and secure at all times.
About the Role:

As a Senior Reliability Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Security engineers and SREs, providing mentorship, and guiding their efforts to ensure the safe operation of Oracle's cloud

You will collaborate with various teams, including software development, security, operations, and engineering, to ensure safety is integrated into every aspect of the cloud service lifecycle.

The role involves defining safer systems, strategies, standards, and processes to enhance the overall reliability of OCI.

You will lead engineering projects, conduct assessments of operational and administrative processes, and provide expert guidance to ensure the safe and secure operation of Oracle's cloud environment.
Responsibilities

Manage and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

Lead the design and implementation of security solutions, including the development of security tools, frameworks, and processes.

Develop monitoring tools to measure the safe operation of Oracle's cloud

Collaborate with product management and development teams to build reliability and observability into the architecture from the ground up.

Participate in RCA of operational issues to identify hazardous operational areas and define improvements

Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and reliability-first thinking within the team.
Qualifications and Requirements:
-
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
-
8+ years of experience in security engineering, site reliability engineering, DevOps, Engineering management, or a related role.

Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing engineering team.

Extensive knowledge of cloud security principles, secure development practices, and cloud infrastructure security (e.g., AWS, Azure, or OCI).

Hands-on experience with automation tools, scripting (Python, Bash), and tool development.

Strong understanding of cloud architecture, network design, and operational best practice.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and engage cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
-
Prior experience in a cloud service provider or large-scale cloud environment is highly desirable.

Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and container orchestration.

Proficiency in Java or Python development for automation and tool integration.

Experience with security orchestration, incident response, and security operations.

Understanding of machine learning/AI applications in operations.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $107,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
