Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. This role involves not only grooming pets but also ensuring their overall well-being and comfort during the grooming process. The Pet Groomer will work closely with pet owners to understand their needs and provide a positive experience for both pets and their owners.

Responsibilities

• Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, clipping, cleaning and styling for various breeds of dogs and other pets.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of all animals during grooming sessions, utilizing proper animal handling techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area and equipment, adhering to hygiene standards.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ grooming needs and any observations about their health or behavior.
• Provide basic pet care advice to clients, including tips on maintaining their pet’s coat between grooming appointments.
• Handle animals with care, using appropriate restraint techniques when necessary to ensure safety for both the pet and the groomer.
• Collaborate with veterinary staff if needed, especially in cases where pets may require special attention due to health concerns.

Experience

• Previous experience in pet grooming is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided for the right candidate.
• Experience in dog training or handling is a plus, as well as any background in veterinary technician or assistant roles.
• Familiarity with animal care practices, including animal restraint and heavy lifting when managing larger breeds or multiple pets.
• Customer service skills are essential for effectively communicating with pet owners and ensuring a positive experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
