Job Description

Job Purpose : Performs tasks associated with the execution of building repairs and renovations to interior/ exterior surfaces, fixtures and fittings, carpentry and, plumbing systems of buildings and attending to the completion of procedural administrative reports and instructional/ transactional forms/ documentation related to the activities of the Division.

Duties:

• Repairs defects and/ or renovates interior/ exterior building surfaces and surroundings
• Completes internal transactional documentation (e.g. time sheets, Job, etc.) and related forms
• Responsible for the driving of municipal vehicle
• Cleans vehicles and attends to the storage, and cleaning of tools
• Adhere to health and safety regulations in terms of OHS Act.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10
• Certification of competency in the operation of small plant and equipment, masonry, and painting (NQF 3)
• Valid Code B Drives License
• 3-6 months relevant work experience
• Physically fit and healthy
• Must lift and carry weights up to 25kg.
• Proficient in at least 2 of the 3 official languages in the Western Cape
