Although KDI’s client base is diverse, we specialize in Multi-Family Residential, Hospitality, Retail, and Mixed-Use projects.

Position Overview:

We’re seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Project Manager / Senior Architectural Professional to lead projects from concept through building occupancy. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical and organizational skills, deep knowledge of the design and construction process, and proficiency in Autodesk Revit software. Licensure in architecture is not required but is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage projects through all phases: planning, design, documentation, bidding, and construction.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and permitting authorities.
• Coordinate and lead project meetings, site visits, presentations, and public hearings.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Produce, review, and manage schematic, design development, and construction documents.
• Collaborate with internal design teams to align design intent with client goals.
• Interpret and apply building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes.
• Track and communicate project progress, proactively addressing any issues.
• Support sustainable and high-performance design initiatives, including Passive House, LEED, and Net Zero projects.
• This is a working Project Manager role, which includes time drafting and detailing drawings at all phases of the project.

Qualifications:

• Professional degree in Architecture.
• 10+ years of relevant post-graduate experience (minimum 3 years in project management role) within an architectural practice.
• Architectural Licensure or active pursuit of licensure preferred.
• Experience with multi-family and mixed-use project types required.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit (daily use) and familiarity with project management tools/workflows.
• Experience with additional software such as Bluebeam and AutoCAD is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to oversee and manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid understanding of building systems, construction types, sustainability standards, and construction administration processes.
• Familiarity with Massachusetts Building Codes, including the Specialized Stretch Energy Code preferred.
• Familiarity with Zoning Codes for municipalities in the Greater Boston Area preferred, but not required. Ability to comprehend zoning codes and implement them into proposed designs required.
• Able to commute to our Somerville, MA office (parking available) and conduct site visits as required.

• Competitive experience-based pay. Salary Range $85,000- $110,000 depending on experience level and licensure.
