Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Senior Director, OB/GYN, the Manager, Obstetrics & Gynecology provides operational and administrative leadership for the department. The Manager oversees key administrative functions, coordinates provider scheduling and educational programs, supervises administrative staff, and ensures efficient departmental operations aligned with CHA’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
• Oversee day-to-day administrative functions of the OB/GYN Department.
• Manage and maintain departmental databases; produce monthly statistical reports and ad hoc analyses for leadership.
• Support departmental budgeting and monitor non-payroll expenditures.
Educational Program Coordination
• Manage residency, medical student, and trainee programs; act as liaison to medical schools and academic partners.
• Coordinate rotation schedules, onboarding, and orientation for all trainees and students.
Provider Scheduling & Clinical Operations
• Coordinate complex provider schedules in collaboration with physician leadership.
• Manage time-off requests, ensure adequate clinical coverage, and track provider PTO/CME balances.
• Oversee OB/GYN O.R. block scheduling and collaborate with surgical scheduling teams to optimize block time utilization.
Staff Supervision
• Supervise and support administrative staff, including executive and scheduling personnel.
• Conduct performance evaluations, manage payroll approval, and ensure adequate coverage during staff absences.
Compliance, Quality, and IT Coordination
• Track provider participation in quality and risk-reduction programs (e.g., K2, CRICO).
• Support departmental compliance with chart audit, JCAHO, OSHA, and educational site survey requirements.
• Serve as primary liaison with IT to ensure department systems and shared drives are maintained and up to date.
Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare operations, management, or project management.
• Prior experience in a hospital or academic medical setting strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration abilities.
