Job Title: Operating Room First Assist RN (ORFA)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Operating Room First Assist (ORFA) Registered Nurse to join our team for a temporary contract assignment. This role is based in an 8-bed unit environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with the surgical team, demonstrating strong clinical judgment, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work productively in a fast-paced environment despite interruptions.

Shift & Schedule Requirements:

• Shift Structure: Strict 8-hour shifts. Shift accommodations or alternative scheduling will not be considered for this opening.
• Schedule Dependability: Demonstrated evidence of dependability in maintaining a committed work schedule.
• Time Off: Any requested time off (RTO) must be declared immediately upon application. A maximum of 5 days of RTO will be considered (fewer days are preferred). No schedule requests or modifications will be approved after an offer is extended.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary First Assist in the Operating Room, executing advanced perioperative nursing care.
• Work cooperatively and communicate efficiently with surgical staff, physicians, and cross-functional teams.
• Manage surgical tasks and time productively while maintaining a high standard of patient safety.
• Participate in call rotation (Call rate: $4/hour; Call-Back, Holiday, and Overtime multipliers apply at 1.25%).
• Dress Code: Unit/Facility-provided scrubs.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of current, dedicated Operating Room First Assist experience.
• Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Massachusetts.
• Certifications:
  • Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS.
  • Active Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) credential.
  • Note: Certifications cannot be pending; all credentials must be active at the time of application.
• Technology: Prior experience with Meditech Expanse is highly preferred.
• Travel & Logistics:
  • Candidates must possess their own reliable vehicle for this assignment.
  • To comply with regional travel parameters, candidates must reside greater than 50 miles away from the work facility.
