Job Title: Kitchen Assistant

Pay: $15 - $20 / hour (commensurate with experience)

Direct Manager: Kitchen Lead, GM, AGM

Position Description, Responsibilities, and Documents:

As a kitchen Assistant, you'll get your start in the enthralling landscape that is Levitate's culinary scene. You'll work alongside an upbeat crew that knows how to keep calm underpressure and have fun while serving up some of our area's most unique fast casual dishes. This position is the first stop when joining Levitate's Culinary crew and involves cleaning dishes, surfaces, and our spaces to ensure the kitchen crew can flow smoothly, all while learning the ins and outs of our BOH operation so you can step onto the line in the future!

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be a productive member of the team! Help out where help is needed, have your team’s back like they have yours.
• Follows sanitation guidelines for washing, rinsing and sanitizing all dishes.
• Quickly and efficiently cleans kitchen equipment and returns to proper places.
• Cleans machines and appliances used in the kitchen.
• Helps unload and organize deliveries.
• Sweeps and mops floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled.
• Takes out trash and rinses garbage cans.
• Supports other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed and directed.
• Reports kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures.
• Maintains a positive attitude and ability to work in a busy kitchen environment.
• Must wear closed toed and non-slip shoes, pull back all loose hair, and be trained in the basics of food safety.
• Provide excellent customer service to all patrons, communicate with MOD, follow directions, show up on time and be a team player.
• When asked to and agreeing to perform a different job of the same caliber, accomplish all assigned tasks of that job with the same care as your original role

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must agree to background check.
• ServSafe Certification is highly recommended but not required.
• Prior experience in restaurant kitchens is not required but preferred.

• Self-discipline, initiative and outgoing pleasant, polite manner with a neat and clean appearance.
• Must be able to multitask and work calmly under pressure.
• Must possess good communication skills.
• Must be reliable, responsible and respectful.
• Must be a team player.

• Completes job responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with Levitate Backyards policies and procedures
• At all times provides a favorable image of Levitate Backyard.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Part time hours
• Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
• Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment
