BILINGUAL RESOURCE CONSULTANT (English/Spanish)

LifePath is a mission-driven, collaborative, and community-focused human services agency seeking to hire a person who is bilingual in Spanish and English to support our program providing information and referral, follow-up and advocacy to callers and who will process intake information for internal programs operated by LifePath. The Resource Consultant serves as the public’s entry point to LifePath’s services.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field preferred with years of experience working with older adults and caregivers

The position requires:

• English and Spanish fluency
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Knowledge of community resources and ability to research options
• Sensitivity to work with diverse populations virtually and telephonically.
• Comfortable facilitating outreach events and presentations for individuals and groups.
• Ability to work within databases, use Google and Microsoft Office Suite, virtual platforms, and other technology. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform professional interviews over the phone to determine needs of callers to make appropriate referrals.
2. Complete referrals and intake assessments as required.
3. Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of available resources for older adults, caregivers, and people living with disabilities.
4. Maintain current understanding of relevant regulations and application procedures of entitlement benefits.
5. Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive information of available resources for elders, caregivers and individuals with disabilities.
6. Maintain current understanding of relevant regulations and application procedures of entitlement benefits.
7. Conduct community presentations and outreach activities through public speaking engagements or related activities.
8. Provide follow-up communication with consumers as needed to ensure outcomes of previous contact and offer additional assistance in locating other services as necessary.
9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation according to program and agency requirements of Information and Referral (I&R) calls, follow-up and advocacy work. Complete daily call log in database on all calls.
10. Participate in regular agency meetings and team meetings and attend in-service trainings.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Physical: Visual, speaking, auditory and mobile capacity necessary:

• Capacity to see computer screen and read written material
• Capacity to hear and speak and utilize cell phone
• Capacity to communicate verbally with consumers, caregivers, supervisors and managers
• Capacity for fine manipulation in the frequent use of equipment such as computers, copy machines, etc.

Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Occasional reaching and grabbing objects with both hands, twisting of hand and wrist, and pushing and pulling of objects.

Occasional bending, squatting, and twisting to perform work functions.

Occasional capacity to lift up to 25 pounds.

Mental:

Ability to understand and/or interpret complicated program instructions and laws.

Capacity to learn complicated computer software

Capacity to deal rationally and calmly with varying personalities

Capacity to work well in fast paced, rapidly changing environment.

Environmental:

Work is fully indoor office work.

Must be able to tolerate by-products of office machine operation.
