Production Component & Inventory Technician

The Production Component & Inventory Technician is responsible for ordering, installing, and maintaining production components, managing inventory of tools and components, and ensuring equipment is set up accurately according to blueprints and technical drawings. The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities


Component Installation & Maintenance

  • Order, install, assemble, and maintain production hardware and equipment.
  • Read, interpret, and execute blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise installations.
  • Ensure all installations meet safety, quality, and production standards.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory of production components, tools, and machine components.
  • Receive, label, store, and organize incoming parts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies to prevent shortages.
  • Conduct periodic cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with production and purchasing teams to support manufacturing schedules.
  • Maintain detailed records of installations, maintenance, and inventory.
  • Identify opportunities to improve hardware storage and inventory systems.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in component installation, mechanical assembly, and inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings is required.
  • Familiarity with plastic manufacturing equipment or production processes is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, inventory management software).
  • Ability to lift and handle items up to 40 lbs.
  • Effective communication skills.

Performance Indicators

  • Accuracy and timeliness of installations.
  • Inventory accuracy and reduction in shortages or overstock.
  • Correct interpretation and execution of blueprint instructions.
  • Compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Responsiveness to production support needs.

  • Be able to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
  • Be able to reach overhead.
  • Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time.
  • Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.
  • Be able to lift and/or move 35 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday.
  • This position will require exposure to moderate noise levels (normally in a production environment) which may require the use of hearing safety equipment.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employment is contingent upon successfully passing an employee reference check, criminal background check, and drug screening.

This position requires the use of information that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder').

Compensation details: 17-25 Hourly Wage
