Description:
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with a strong background in backend engineering, specializing in application deployment, automated continuous integration testing, and performance monitoring. The ideal candidate will ensure the visibility of key metrics to inform developers' decision-making processes.
Location: Remote or Local to Washington DC
Rate: $45 - $50 an hour
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Technology Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills on existing and emerging agile best practices, relevant technologies, and security best practices.
Skills & Qualifications:

Version Control: Proficiency with version control systems like Git for collaborative development and managing codebase changes.

Terraform: Basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and experience with Terraform for provisioning and managing infrastructure resources on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, and Jenkins.

Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Go, and PowerShell.

Linux & System Administration: Strong understanding of file systems, process management, and performance tuning.

AWS Services: Familiarity with core AWS services, including:

AWS Lambda for serverless functions
-
AWS S3 for storage
-
AWS API Gateway for creating RESTful APIs

AWS DynamoDB for NoSQL databases
-
AWS EC2 for virtual servers

AWS RDS for managed relational databases

AWS CloudFront for content delivery

AWS CloudWatch for application monitoring

Database Management: Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.

5 years of experience working with AWS, infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.), and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.).

3 years of experience working with TypeScript/JavaScript.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
