Engineering Manager, Advanced Reporting
Team Overview
The Advanced Reporting team is building the next generation of analytics tools that provide Klaviyo customers with actionable, data-driven insights. This team is responsible for designing and developing our advanced reporting experiences that empower our users to understand marketing performance, identify trends, and make smarter business decisions. As our customers' data needs grow more complex, the Advanced Reporting team plays a crucial role in transforming massive datasets into scalable, intuitive, and powerful visualizations. You will lead a team working at the intersection of big data, sophisticated frontend interfaces, and scalable backend systems.
How You Will Make a Difference
You will lead a team of talented engineers to deliver high-impact, customer-facing analytics features used by more than 160,000 businesses. Your technical leadership will directly shape the future of Klaviyo’s reporting capabilities, helping our customers’ data into clear, actionable strategies.
- Lead, grow, and mentor a team of full-stack engineers, fostering a high-performance and inclusive team culture.
- Drive the technical vision for our advanced reporting features, ensuring our systems are scalable, reliable, and performant.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Design to translate a strategic vision into technical execution and exceptional user experiences.
- Coordinate and collaborate with teams across Klaviyo to ensure we deliver the most value to our customers.
- Own the systems that make our customers' data discoverable and usable, powering insights that businesses rely on daily to drive their growth.
- Contribute to code reviews, design discussions, and the continuous improvement of our engineering processes and technical excellence.
- Represent your team in broader architectural discussions and help maintain a high technical bar across the organization.
Who You Are
You are a passionate leader who is motivated to build great products and high-performing teams. You have a proven track record of delivering complex, data-intensive applications in a fast-paced, product-led environment.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong frontend and/or backend skills.
- 2+ years of engineering management experience leading productive, high-functioning teams. Ideally managing fullstack, product delivery teams.
- Comfortable leading teams that contribute to backend systems using Python (or equivalent).
- Skilled in system design and architecture, particularly for building reliable and scalable analytics platforms.
- An excellent communicator and collaborator who can align the team and stakeholders behind a shared vision.
- Experience with agile methodologies and a passion for shipping code early and often.
- You have a strong understanding of popular AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini, etc.) and know how to use them effectively in your own day-to-day workflow as well as having your teams effectively use them for high productivity.

Our platform is coded primarily in Python and is built for massive scale on Amazon Web Services (AWS). While we look for engineers who have experience in our stack, we are always open to those who come from different disciplines and are eager to learn.
