Position: Host
Reports to: General Manager
- Understands our culture and takes whatever necessary steps to create a positive and memorable guest experience.
- Welcomes guests warmly by smiling and making eye contact as they enter the restaurant.
- Answers guest questions regarding flow, food, beverages, the restaurant, and the restaurants story.
- Keeps guests entertained and engaged while waiting or in line.
- Leads guests at their own pace to a clean, perfectly set table and hands the appropriate menu(s) to each guest after they are seated.
- Maintains awareness of available tables in the dining area and always knows of a party 'on deck' to be seated.
- Communicates with servers and managers regarding the availability of tables, seating arrangements for large parties, or special requests, ensuring that guests enjoy a memorable experience.
- Handles guests' complaints by listening to their concerns, informing a manager promptly, and resolving issues to ensure overall guest satisfaction.
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return to the restaurant again.
- Arrives to work on time as scheduled, well-groomed in the proper work attire, and ready to work.
- Clocks in and out as scheduled.
- Demonstrates a helpful and positive attitude towards guests and team members.
- Completes all assigned tasks and duties assigned by managers/supervisors.
- Checks the greeter area and its storage areas for adequate supplies (e.g., menus, business cards, pens/pencils, etc.) to ensure supplies are readily available.
- Reviews potential wait times and works with managers to plan seating arrangements.
- Assists fellow team members as needed to ensure our guests receive the highest standard of food, beverage, and hospitality.
- Check out with a manager before leaving at the end of each shift.
- Inspects restrooms, dining room, and lobby, cleans as needed, and reports any unsafe conditions to maintain safety and sanitation standards.
- Monitors dining area tables to ensure they meet or exceed standards (e.g., proper table setup, full napkin dispensers, swept floors under tables, etc.).
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Able to speak to the restaurant's story and mission statement.
- Passion for hospitality, providing exceptional service, and creating memorable dining experiences.
