Job Description:

Agriculture, Adjunct Faculty Pool

Adjunct positions are an "Open Pool" for the upcoming Fall 2026 semester. There may or may not be available openings at this time however, when an opening does occur, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants we have on file on an as needed basis.

Adjunct Instructor positions are part-time, semester-to-semester, non-benefited MCCC/MTA/DCE unit positions.

SALARY RANGE: $1,397 to $1,688 per credit. Courses can run from one to four credits.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Teaches Four Season Farming (AGR111), a 1-credit, hands-on, skills-based class that focuses on growing crops outside of the traditional season by using season extension techniques. The class will focus on building and using coldframe and hoophouse; the use of mulch for heat retention and selecting cold hardy plant varieties.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Conducts classes;
• Assesses student performance; and
• Provides student assistance by appointment.

Requirements:

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor of Science in Agricultural or Environmental Sciences or related field;
• Applied experience in plant cultivation;
• Demonstrated successful experience working with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, with a range of academic abilities; and
• Demonstrated commitment to the community college mission.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master of Science;
• Evidence of successful teaching experience in a community college; and
