Industrial Maintenance Technician - Food Processing Systems

Step into a day on our Maintenance team

Picture yourself walking into Ken’s Foods in Marlborough, MA. The plant is climate controlled, humming with mixers, fillers, and labelers. A conveyor pauses—your quick diagnostics get packaging running again. A pump needs a seal; you swap it, align the motor, and verify flow. Later, you trace a control fault through an electrical schematic, isolate a bad sensor on a PLC-controlled system, and bring the line back to spec. Before you clock out, you help a teammate TIG-weld a bracket and solder a delicate connection—another productive shift keeping great dressings and sauces moving to customers.

What you’ll tackle

• Hunt down and resolve equipment and facility issues across the plant and grounds
• Operate, troubleshoot, and repair automated packaging machinery
• Apply pump theory to diagnose, rebuild, and verify performance
• Use pneumatic and hydraulic principles to service valves, actuators, and power units
• Read and interpret electrical schematics; work safely on low- and high-voltage circuits
• Diagnose motors, motor controls, and device control problems
• Repair control and power circuits, including PLC-based and solid-state systems
• Weld (gas and arc) and perform precision soldering
• Support utilities: steam, hot water, compressed air, and refrigeration
• Tackle basic plumbing and carpentry as needed
• Identify and order parts from manuals and prints; document clear written and verbal updates
• Pass the Standard Timing Model mechanical test with a score of 60% or higher

What you bring

• At least 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience across the areas above
• High school diploma or GED; or 3+ years of related training/experience; or an equivalent mix of education and experience
• Comfort working around energized equipment with strong safety habits

Licensing (Massachusetts)

For Massachusetts only; Role requires Special to Operate Engineering License (Steam Plant) -- License training will be provided if not already in possession.
