Machine Operator
Locally owned business in Westfield, MA looking for motivated individuals to join their growing team! Full time, Monday through Friday with a great schedule, offering competitive wages. We are looking for an experienced Machine Operator who will be working specifically with custom wood flooring and architectural accents.
In addition to performing diversified duties to set up, operate, and coordinate operational and related activities of various machines, here is a list of what else the selected candidate should be capable of:
1. Work with schedules, specifications, procedures, established methods and practices, monitoring devices, gauges, instruments, and written and verbal instructions.
2. Inspect lumber to meet quality standards, and report and deviant product.
3. Perform and provide maintenance, assist in general repairs as required, and do weekly and monthly preventative maintenance tasks.
4. Prepare, label, and store material properly.
5. Return unused material back to inventory, properly stacked and banded.
6. Recover material from waste stream and utilize for maximum yield.
7. Coordinate activities and provide stock for non-scheduled events or problems on machines.
8. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner and detect and report faulty equipment and materials to supervisors/management.
9. Follow all safety rules, practices, and procedures.
10. Lift and move up to 50 lbs.
This is a full-time position with overtime availability. The above description covers the most significant duties performed, but does not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned.

Qualifications:
- Blueprint reading
- Mechanical knowledge
- Manufacturing experience
- Machining skills
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Proficient with hand tools
- Experience in materials handling
- Strong basic math skills
- Experience in quality control procedures
- Previous warehouse experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
