Restaurant Manager Requirements and Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Prior leadership experience in an independent or chef-driven restaurant concept
• Lead, coach, and mentor front-of-house and support staff through clear expectations and accountability
• Foster a positive, respectful, and professional team culture
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management

Guest Experience & Hospitality

• Maintain a strong guest-forward mentality , ensuring every guest receives exceptional service
• Actively manage the floor during service, anticipating guest needs and resolving issues in real time
• Set, uphold, and model service standards that create memorable dining experiences
• Collaborate closely with the culinary team to ensure seamless service execution

Daily Operations & Service Management

• Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service flow and staff preparedness
• Manage opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and end-of-day reporting
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels while balancing labor efficiency and service quality
• Maintain consistency in service, cleanliness, and organization throughout the restaurant

Communication, Safety & Compliance

• Communicate effectively with ownership, chefs, and management teams
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, alcohol service, and labor regulations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for both guests and staff
• TIPs and ServSafe certification required (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe)
