Environmental Health Specialist
Careerscape is working with Boston area health department that needs an Environmental Health Specialist to conduct inspections and enforce health regulations. You'll inspect restaurants, pools, housing, and other facilities protecting public health.

- Conduct health inspections of restaurants and food establishments
- Inspect swimming pools, beaches, and recreational facilities
- Investigate housing complaints and code violations
- Review plans for new food service and facility construction
- Enforce state and local health codes
- Educate business owners on compliance requirements
- Document inspections and issue violation notices
- Respond to public health complaints and concerns
- Testify in court regarding violations when needed
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Environmental Health or related field
- Massachusetts Registered Sanitarian license preferred or ability to obtain
- 2-4 years of environmental health inspection experience
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health codes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with good judgment
- Valid driver license for travel to inspection sites
- Comfortable enforcing regulations professionally
- Physical ability to access all areas during inspections
