Safety Manager
SAFETY MANAGER
Reports to: Vice President of Field Operations
FSLA: Exempt
Objective: The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations. This role oversees all safety aspects of construction projects, conducts inspections, and fosters a culture of safety across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and enforce safety policies, procedures, and training programs.- Conduct site inspections and hazard assessments, document findings and corrective actions.
- Review project plans and blueprints for potential safety risks.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses; perform root-cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
- Ensure proper use and availability of PPE and safety equipment.
- Maintain OSHA logs, safety records, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks; promote continuous safety awareness.
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Create and or review NFPA 241 plans.
- Aid in risk assessment for projects.
- Preconstructions validate Subcontractors safety records.
- In-house training of field services team members.
- Trade partner out-reach.
- Tracking “lessons learned” post-construction for trade partners and Windover.
- Evaluate trade partners pre and post-construction.
- Review of house safety equipment.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction safety management.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Certifications:
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach (required)
- CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) (preferred)
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
- HAZWOPER (24-hour or 40-hour) for hazardous materials handling.
- Additional credentials such as CSM (Certified Safety Manager) or STSC (Safety Trained Supervisor Construction) are a plus.
- FPPM Training.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee may lift heavy objects no heavier than 50 lbs. without assistance, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; and uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
The position requires:
- Good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
- The ability to quickly move arms and legs
- Talking and hearing, both in person and by telephone
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must have excellent stamina.
Mental Demands while performing the duties of this job:
Regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks; and work under intensive deadlines with frequent interruptions.
