Pharmacist Job Details

• Location: Boston, MA 02118 (Massachusetts healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Hospital – Accounting/Finance Department
• Employment Type: Travel Pharmacist Position
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (July 6, 2025 – October 4, 2025)
• Shift: 8-hour shifts
• Hours per Week: 40 (Guaranteed)

Pharmacist Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, Pharmacy, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience in healthcare, pharmacy billing, coding, finance, revenue cycle, patient accounting, or physician billing (experience in medical center, oncology, or infusion pharmacy preferred)
• Advanced knowledge of professional billing flows, charge entry, and pharmacy revenue cycle tasks
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Familiarity with Medicare, third-party billing, CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10-CM-PCS codes, and drug NDC numbers
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and/or Coding Certification (CPC, RHIT) preferred

Pharmacist Responsibilities

• Research, resolve, and prepare pharmacy claims that have not passed payer edits; resolve rejected drug claims
• Act as subject matter expert for provider relationships, reimbursement, and pharmacy claims
• Monitor and analyze claim rejections; recommend system enhancements to prevent ongoing issues
• Ensure compliance with Medicare, state, and federal pharmacy billing guidelines
• Collaborate with pharmacy and revenue cycle teams to improve denials management and reduce avoidable write-offs
• Convert pharmacy drug quantities into Medicare billing units and ensure timely processing of billable pharmacy services
• Respond to inquiries regarding compliance, payor policies, coding, denials, and billable pharmacy services
• Prepare reports and present findings to hospital stakeholders
• Educate team members on pharmacy revenue cycle metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
