Hotel Design Manager
:
Buffalo Lodging Associates (BLA) is searching for a qualified Architectural & Design Manager familiar with all aspects of architectural programming, building codes, conceptual architectural design, interior design, and ability to utilize computer-aided design (CAD) systems for hospitality development and renovation.
This position can be seated at either of our corporate offices in Canton MA or Buffalo NY.
Responsibilities:
- Create construction documents for prototypical renovations for brand review, bidding, and construction
- Administer various design transition meetings and coordinate all reviews for due diligence items accounted for, not accounted for, and/or not needed; communicate this information in various report formats to capital programs leaders
- Review shop drawings for prototypical renovations
- Create & manage master catalogue of CAD files for all BLA owned hotels
- Draw and catalogue base plans for all BLA owned hotels which do not currently have CAD drawings on file
- Assist with the hiring and management of designers, architects, engineers during custom design projects
- Coordinate building permit applications
- Responsible for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) surveys and supplemental drawings for required corrective action
- Assist with due diligence reports and site approvals
- Assist Leadership Committee during design scheme selection
- Maintain design checklist in preparation for transition to construction
- Supplement prototypical designs with project-specific design adjustments
- Review and approve finish selections proposed by third-party designers & architects
- Verify that design and code requirements have been defined by the project team and have been indicated on the design documents. Code requirements include life safety and building codes
- Conduct a high-level review of the design documents (drawings & specifications) to assess compliance with Owner's Standards, Design Requirements, and the approved programmed criteria
- Site planning/civil coordination with Brand Hotel
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Associates degree or commensurate experience in a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in architectural CAD systems (ie. Autodesk, Revit, etc.) is required
- 5+ years of experience with hotel renovations and/or new development
- Familiarity with Lumian rendering software a plus
- Proficiency in development of construction documents
- Ability to coordinate brand specifications/PIP requirements
- Knowledge of Marriott's LOBO & Hilton's ProjectHub design platforms
- Some travel to hotel sites is required
