FNA Transmission is New England's largest transmission-exclusive specialty shop — serving Greater Boston since 1981. A+ BBB accredited for over 40 years. We do one thing and we do it at the highest level. No oil changes. No tire rotations. Just transmissions.

We are currently hiring for multiple full-time positions across all experience levels.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE

1. Transmission Rebuild Specialist — $33–$36/hr We need an experienced rebuild technician to execute full teardown-to-assembly operations on automatic and manual transmissions. You will handle clutch packs, valve bodies, gear sets, solenoids, seals, and hard parts. Road test and pressure verify every unit before it leaves the shop.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of hands-on transmission rebuilding experience
• Proficient with scan tools and pressure testing equipment
• ASE A2 or T-Series certification preferred
• Valid driver's license and own tools required

2. Master Transmission Diagnostician — Top Market Pay We need a senior-level diagnostician to lead all diagnostic operations. You will perform road testing, line pressure testing, stall speed analysis, and electronic control system interrogation. You will accurately identify hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic failures — then brief the rebuild team on your findings.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional transmission diagnostic experience
• Advanced proficiency with Snap-on, Autel, Launch, or equivalent scan tools
• ASE A2, T-Series, or ATD certification required
• Valid driver's license required

3. Precision Torque Converter Machinist — Competitive Pay We need an experienced machinist with torque converter expertise. You will perform full teardown, inspection, balancing, welding, and reassembly to precise tolerances. You will work alongside our rebuild and diagnostic specialists on complete drivetrain jobs.

Requirements:

• Proven hands-on experience machining torque converters
• Knowledge of lock-up converters, pump assemblies, and stator components
• Ability to work independently to tight specifications
• Valid driver's license required

4. Transmission Trade Apprentice — $23–$26/hr No transmission experience needed. We are looking for someone with mechanical aptitude and the drive to learn a high-income specialty trade from the ground up. You will work hands-on alongside our certified specialists from day one — teardown through final assembly.

Requirements:

• Some mechanical experience — engines, machinery, or trades preferred
• Vocational or trade school background is a plus
• Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn
• Valid driver's license required
