Key Responsibilities: Dual Focus

Precision Machining and Quality Control (Operation)

• Independently operate manual and CNC machining equipment, including robot tending automation cells, to produce components that meet engineering specifications.
• Machine multiple copies of pre-programmed parts and sub-tasks of larger projects.
• Modify existing parts and fabricate holding and test fixtures with guidance.
• Load, unload, and inspect parts to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met..
• Collaborate with team leaders and cross-functional partners to resolve machining or fabrication challenges.

Equipment Health and Shop Readiness (Support & Maintenance)

• Proactively manage daily shop logistics, including tooling setup, material handling, waste chip management, and coolant/oil restocking.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting and preventative maintenance (PM) on shop machinery as needed. Monitor machine metrics such as coolant/oil levels and filters to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and highly efficient work environment, including tool crib management and post-processing room organization, strictly adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of hands-on machining or fabrication experience in a prototype or production environment.
• Ability to perform first-level troubleshooting and preventative maintenance (PM) on shop machinery, including coolant/oil management and basic machine adjustments.
• Strong commitment to shop safety, organization, and cleanliness; familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or the 5S methodology is highly desired.
• Proven ability to take ownership of tasks, plan work, and execute assignments with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail, with experience holding tight machining tolerances.
• Direct experience with common CNC control systems (Haas, Fanuc) or metrology tools is a plus.
• Experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives related to tooling, setup efficiency, or chip and coolant management.
• Required availability for overtime, up to 50 hours per week.
