Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing daily cost and general ledger accounting activities, supporting the month-end closing process, and assisting in maintaining accurate financial records.
This role is ideal for someone looking to further develop their accounting skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
- Assist in performing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain and update fixed asset and CIP schedules and depreciation calculations
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Support accounting activities for global domestic and international entities.
- Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Assist in spending and variance analysis
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial information
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes
- Preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during the audit process
- Any other tasks and ad hoc requests as assigned by manager
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting or related financial roles. Manufacturing industry experience is required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fixed asset accounting preferred
- Understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Proficiency in ERP software JD Edwards is preferred
- Hands-on experience in Advanced Microsoft Excel is required
- Experience coordinating with external auditors is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
