Job Description
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for verifying shipments against customer orders to ensure order accuracy, preparing and staging finished products, and loading outbound trucks according to company procedures, safety standards, and customer requirements. The role involves close collaboration with the Shipping Department Supervisor to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely order fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Verify shipments against customer orders for accuracy.
- Palletize, wrap, and move finished products to the shipping cooler.
- Pull and stage orders by store and delivery route before scheduled shipment.
- Inspect pallets for compliance with customer and company standards.
- Ensure pallets are fully wrapped; boxes are dry, closed, and undamaged.
- Organize orders in the cooler by client, PO, and pickup date.
- Load outbound trucks following safety and company protocols.
- Confirm refrigeration units are set to continuous mode (34–36°F).
- Review driver documentation and provide required paperwork (Bills of Lading, invoices, loading diagrams).
- Complete temperature logs, pickup logs, and loading diagrams.
- Use temperature recorders when required.
- Scan shipping labels and secure loads with bars or straps.
- Report inventory discrepancies promptly to the Production Coordinator.
- Safely operate pallet wrappers, pallet jacks, and forklifts (with training).
- Maintain a clean, organized shipping area and assist with general housekeeping.
- Participate in safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in reading and writing English for shipping documentation and system entries.
- Understanding of spoken Spanish for workplace communication.
- Basic mathematical skills, including counting, number recognition, and basic arithmetic.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions related to safety, quality, and shipping procedures.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with forklift operation, shipping and receiving, data entry, and inventory control is a plus.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a warehouse and refrigerated cooler environment with regular exposure to cold temperatures, moving machinery, and moderate noise levels. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The role involves standing and walking for extended periods, lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs (with or without assistance), and frequent bending, reaching, and gripping. Training is provided to safely operate warehouse equipment.
Pay Rate: $18.50/hr
Work schedule: 4 am or 5 am (may vary day to day) - 12pm - 1pm

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
