Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices, guiding customer-centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business.
  • Be the front-line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives across three tax offices.
  • Start with a flexible part-time schedule in the fall, transitioning to full-time from January to April, including evening and weekend hours as needed. This role is in-person and not remote.
  • Lead daily team meetings, communicate essential information to associates, and create associate work schedules across all offices with accurate timekeeping and labor management.
  • Travel between offices as required and prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
What you’ll bring to the team
  • Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders.
  • Partner with the District General Manager (DGM) to create and implement office-level growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
  • Assist DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
  • Conduct timely performance reviews and address performance concerns with the Associate Relations Center as needed.
  • Build an engaging team environment across all offices by training and coaching associates and recognizing outstanding contributions.
  • Lead daily team meetings and ensure effective communication with tax office associates.
  • Prepare associate work schedules and ensure accurate timekeeping and labor management for all offices.
  • Travel between offices as required.
  • Prepare tax returns as needed, after completing the required training.
Your Expertise
  • People management experience with demonstrated ability to grow and develop associates.
  • Aptitude for executing growth plans and fostering a growth-oriented culture.
  • Strong decision-making and judgment skills; ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a high school diploma with equivalent experience.
  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. Pay decisions depend on factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location. Eligible associates may participate in incentive plans and benefits including medical and retirement plans.
