• Job Title: PICU Registered Nurse (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit RN)
• Location: Boston, MA 02115 – Longwood Medical Area
• Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital, Magnet Hospital, Level I Trauma Center
• Unit: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) – Med/Surg ICU
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens, Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 5, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM); straight nights or 50/50 day/night rotation available
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Parking: Free for night shift; discounted day passes with shuttle service
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,360 - $2,420

PICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent PICU RN experience in a U.S. hospital (travel nursing experience required)
• Active, permanent Registered Nurse license (RN license – no exceptions)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications
• Ability to float to other ICU units as needed
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Two professional references from two of the last three employers
• First-time travel nurses not accepted for this assignment

PICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status using EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Float to other intensive care units (ICUs) within scope as needed to support hospital staffing
• Participate in scheduled weekend and night shift rotations
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
