Radiation Therapist Job Details

• Employment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Contract)
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital – Radiation Oncology Department
• Location: Boston, MA 02215 (Massachusetts healthcare jobs)
• Shift: 8 Hour Day Shifts
• Hours per Week: 40
• Contract Duration: 12 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 12/27/2025)
• Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2620 - $2690

Radiation Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Radiation Therapist
• Graduate of a JCRT accredited Radiation Therapy program
• Massachusetts RadTech-RadThrpy license required
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) registration required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Experience with IMRT (Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy) and IGRT (Image-Guided Radiation Therapy) techniques
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate web-based applications
• MOSAIQ record and verify system experience preferred
• Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Must not have worked at Beth Israel Lahey Health in any capacity within the last six months

Radiation Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist
• Perform daily maintenance and quality assurance checks on radiation therapy equipment
• Maintain inventory of departmental supplies
• Provide patient and family education to maximize compliance with care plans
• Monitor and report patient reactions, therapeutic responses, and inconsistencies
• Assess patient data pertinent to age-specific needs and provide care per department policy
• Position, immobilize, and align patients according to radiation treatment plans
• Maintain accurate logs and daily treatment records
• Collaborate with Level II Radiation Therapists to resolve clinical problems
• Utilize quality assurance programs to ensure safe and effective treatment delivery
• Adapt contingency plans in response to workload and schedule variables
