Psychiatric RN Job Details

• Location: Holyoke, MA 01040 (Massachusetts psychiatric nursing jobs)
• Setting: Behavioral Health Division – adult, geriatric, and pediatric units
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (travel RN contract)
• Start Date: October 13, 2025
• End Date: January 12, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:00am)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Yes – across adult, geriatric, and pediatric behavioral health units
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Blue
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800 - $1840

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient psychiatric nursing experience
• Graduate of an accredited Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing program
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (preferred)
• Ability to work with adult, geriatric, and pediatric populations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Psychiatric RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Develop and implement nursing care plans with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
• Effectively communicate changes in patient clinical condition to physicians, supervisors, and team members
• Participate in discharge planning and patient transitions
• Float between adult, geriatric, and pediatric behavioral health units as needed
• Provide care for patients with psychiatric diagnoses such as schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety
