Job Title: Studio & Glass Class Associate Location: Luke Adams Glassblowing Studio, Norwood, MA

Position Type: Part-Time (Thurs–Sat) training with track to Full-Time (Tues–Sat) Evening and Weekend Shifts

We’re a vibrant and growing glassblowing studio offering hands-on experiences to the public through our classes, retail shop, and creative studio environment. Our mission is to share the magic of glass in all its forms—hot, fused, flameworked—with a wide audience in a fun, safe, and inspiring environment.

Position Summary:

We’re looking for a responsible, proactive, and organized individual to join our team as a Studio & Glass Class Associate . This role is essential to the smooth operation of our glass classes, customer interactions, and behind-the-scenes logistics. You’ll be the key bridge between instructors, students, retail customers, and the studio team.

Key Responsibilities:

Glass Class Oversight

• Supervise all glass classes on Fridays and Saturdays , managing both opening and closing shifts
• Ensure a smooth flow from student sign-in to finished piece pickup
• Track and organize student work, monitor class progress, and maintain studio safety and cleanliness
• Support instructors and troubleshoot scheduling or class flow issues

Customer & Retail Experience

• Greet and assist walk-in retail customers
• Process transactions using our register and Shopify system
• Provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced setting
• Assist with product questions, gift card usage, and glass education
• Maintaining studio space including cleaning and display

Administrative Support

• Pull and print class lists, prep forms and waivers
• Learn and uphold our packing standards for finished glasswork
• Train and become TIP certified for our small bar area
• Manage online and in-studio orders, process refunds, and respond to customer service emails

Requirements:

• Experience in glass arts (glassblowing, fused glass, or flamework) is required
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Comfortable managing busy class days and high-traffic retail hours
• Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
• Must be available Fridays and Saturdays (non-negotiable)
• Comfortable lifting and handling delicate artwork
• Reliable, communicative, and team-oriented
• Willingness to learn systems like Shopify, internal scheduling, and class operations

Schedule & Growth Path:

• Start Part-Time (Thursday–Saturday) for training at training rate
• Shift into Full-Time (Tuesday–Saturday) after training period (35-40 hours) at full time rate
• Weekday shifts assist in retail customer service, respond to customer service emails, and warehouse/class piece order picking and packing
• Responsibility over classes and retail operations
• Opportunity to instruct glass classes including fused glass and flamework
• Ability to adapt and help in other integral operations to aid studio efficiency

• Sunday & Monday CLOSED
• Tuesday - Thursday 12 - 6PM
• Friday 12 - 9PM
• Saturday 9AM - 9PM
• Holiday exceptions
