General Manager - Fire Protection
About the Opportunity
HV Talent Group is partnering with a well-established, rapidly growing fire protection and life safety services organization seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead branch operations within a defined geographic territory.
This role oversees all service and construction activity, drives operational performance, leads field and office teams, and partners cross-functionally to grow revenue while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction.
This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, field service-driven environment.
Position Summary
The General Manager has full operational oversight of service and project execution within their assigned territory. This includes leadership of field technicians, warehouse operations, and office support staff, while partnering closely with sales and construction leadership to achieve revenue and performance targets.
The ideal candidate combines operational discipline, strategic thinking, financial acumen, and strong people leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee all service and construction activity within the territory
- Lead day-to-day branch operations, ensuring efficiency and quality execution
- Monitor performance metrics, revenue targets, and operational KPIs
- Conduct monthly performance reviews with senior leadership
Team Leadership
- Manage field technicians, office support staff, and warehouse personnel
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop team members
- Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Business Growth & Strategy
- Partner with sales and construction leadership to drive territory growth
- Support strategic planning and territory expansion initiatives
- Track and analyze operational and sales data
- Forecast performance and identify improvement opportunities
Customer & Safety Oversight
- Respond to escalated customer issues and emergency calls
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Ensure safety compliance and best practices across field teams
- Promote a culture rooted in responsiveness, respect, and professionalism
Financial & Administrative Management
- Review territory billing for accuracy
- Partner with collections to manage receivables
- Oversee local inventory and materials management
- Maintain P&L awareness and operational budget discipline
Qualifications
- Proven success in an operational leadership or branch management role
- Experience within a field service organization required
- Strong preference for fire protection, life safety, HVAC, security, or related industries
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams in fast-paced environments
- Strong analytical and strategic decision-making capabilities
- Working knowledge of P&L management and financial reporting
- Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and results-driven
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
Technical Skills
- General computer proficiency required
- Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with field service or ERP software a plus
