Forklift Operations and Inventory Control Technician

What you’ll do

• Operate a forklift safely to move goods, pallets, and equipment.
• Load and unload pallets from trucks and storage areas into the warehouse.
• Confirm loads are secure and undamaged.
• Keep your area clean, neat, and safe at all times.
• Complete the Forklift Operator Daily Checklist before operating.
• Follow department SOPs and other required procedures.
• Connect and disconnect rail cars every day in all weather.
• Help allocate and utilize space; transfer inventory as needed.
• Pitch in on other jobs as needed and perform additional assigned tasks.
• Learn and operate a turret truck.
• Prepare inventory and take part in monthly and year-end raw material physical inventories.

Shift: 8:00am to 5:00pm

What it takes to succeed

• Proven forklift experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend English.
• Basic math skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• High school diploma or GED.

Physical and attendance expectations

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, squat, bend, twist and turn as needed to perform the job.
• Must possess good manual and mechanical dexterity to perform job duties. Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds.
