Recovery Support Navigator Coordinator
Recovery Support Navigator Coordinator (RSNC)
GAAMHA – Recovery Support Navigator Services Guiding Recovery. Strengthening Pathways. Removing Barriers. A mid-level leadership role built on compassion, accountability, and real impact.
At GAAMHA, we believe recovery is possible—and support should feel human, accessible, and rooted in dignity. People seeking help are often navigating more than a diagnosis: they’re navigating systems, setbacks, stigma, and the daily realities that can block progress. As the Recovery Support Navigator Coordinator (RSNC), you are the steady leader behind a team of Recovery Support Navigators. You’ll keep services running strong, support staff growth and accountability, and make sure every client receives person-centered, equitable, high-quality care navigation. You’ll also help remove barriers by strengthening internal workflows, improving documentation and reporting, and building powerful community partnerships that expand access to recovery supports. In addition to leadership and oversight, the RSNC maintains an active caseload and may carry additional clients as needed to ensure timely access and continuity of services. This role is ideal for a mission-driven mid-level manager who can balance people leadership with operational excellence—and who believes that the right support at the right time can change everything. What You’ll Lead
You’ll guide a team that helps individuals with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring mental health conditions connect to care, resources, and recovery pathways. You will ensure RSN services are delivered with consistency, compassion, and compliance—while continuously improving how the program operates and how clients experience support. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Supervision (Mid-Level Management)
• Provide administrative oversight, monthly supervision, coaching, and performance support to Recovery Support Navigators.
• Build a team culture grounded in respect, accountability, consistency, and client-centered care.
• Support staff as they navigate complex cases, system barriers, and high-need situations— without losing the person behind the paperwork. Intake Review, Enrollment & Service Coordination
• Review all initial client intakes to confirm criteria are met prior to enrollment and assignment of a primary RSN.
• Monitor caseload distribution, coverage, and workflow, ensuring clients receive timely service.
• Maintain an active caseload and provide direct services in alignment with RSN program expectations; assume additional caseload coverage as needed to support team capacity and continuity of care. Documentation, Billing & Quality Assurance
• Oversee required record keeping, billing, reporting, and documentation functions for RSN services.
• Support RSN staff in identifying, resolving, and documenting insurance-related issues for enrolled clients.
• Strengthen documentation quality through feedback, coaching, and ongoing review— ensuring it reflects the work, meets standards, and supports funding sustainability. Reporting & Program Performance
• Review the monthly crossover for accuracy and completeness in coordination with the RSNC’s supervisor.
• Prepare the Monthly Management Report (MMR) for the GAAMHA Board of Directors and review content with the RSNC’s supervisor prior to submission.
• Track service activity and program trends; use data to strengthen operations, improve outcomes, and guide team support. Community Partnerships & Visibility
• Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources, municipalities, healthcare organizations, funders, police departments, court systems, and other community partners.
• Promote RSN services by strengthening referral pathways and communicating GAAMHA’s value with professionalism and clarity.
• Represent GAAMHA with integrity—showing up as a trusted partner and a steady resource in the community. Professional Standards, Access & Coverage
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy requirements, including 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA, and all GAAMHA policies.
• Demonstrate scheduling flexibility, including the ability to provide telephonic coverage as needed to support clients and program operations.
• Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of program goals and mission impact. Qualifications Preferred Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioral Health, Human Services, or a closely related field preferred. Required Experience & Skills
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the Human Services field (lead/supervisory experience preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of substance use disorder treatment, recovery pathways, and community-based supports.
• Familiarity with addiction and recovery services available to MassHealth members and resources within the service region.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; ability to collaborate across clinical, administrative, and community systems. Requirements
