2nd Shift-CNC Machinist

Location: Wrentham, MA Job Type: Full-Time $60,000-$68,640

Position Summary The CNC Machinist produces high-precision components for aerospace and defense applications. This role is responsible for CNC some programming, machine setup, and machining operations while meeting strict quality, tolerance, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and/or lathes

• Develop CNC programs using CAD/CAM software and G-code

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T

• Select tooling, feeds, and speeds for aerospace-grade materials

• Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections

• Machine parts to tight tolerances and high-quality standards

• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues

• Maintain documentation for quality and traceability compliance

• Follow AS9100/ISO standards and all safety procedures

• Maintain clean, organized machines and work areas

• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams

Qualifications

• Experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably in aerospace or defense

• Proficiency with CNC mills and/or lathes

• Experience with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam preferred)

• Understanding of G-code and GD&T

• Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, or similar materials

• High attention to detail and quality

• Ability to work independently

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred

Preferred Skills

• 3-, 4-, or 5-axis machining experience

• High-mix, low-volume manufacturing

• First Article Inspection (FAI) experience

• Lean manufacturing knowledge

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling machines and other machining equipment to produce precision parts.
• Set up and calibrate machines according to specifications and production requirements.
• Interpret CAD drawings and SolidWorks models to ensure accurate machining processes.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot any operational issues.
• Utilize hand tools and basic math skills for measuring, cutting, and assembling components.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve tooling and machining processes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
