Concrete Estimator

Location: Chicopee, MA

Compensation: $90,000–$120,000

A growing construction company in the Chicopee, MA area is seeking a Concrete Estimator to join its team. This individual will play a key role in helping price, plan, and win work across a broad range of concrete projects, with a strong focus on commercial, industrial, sitework, foundation, and flatwork construction .

We are looking for someone who brings strong estimating skills, practical construction knowledge, and a can-do attitude . The right person will be comfortable working closely with operations and field teams and willing to step in and help support project execution or run jobs when needed.

Position Summary

The Concrete Estimator will be responsible for reviewing plans and specifications, performing takeoffs, building accurate and competitive estimates, and supporting a smooth transition from preconstruction to operations. This person should understand a variety of concrete scopes and be comfortable working on projects involving flatwork, foundations, sitework, structural slabs, elevated slabs, and specialty concrete placements .

Key Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents
• Prepare detailed and competitive estimates for concrete scopes
• Perform quantity takeoffs for foundations, slabs, structural concrete, site concrete, and related work
• Develop pricing for labor, materials, equipment, production rates, and subcontracted scopes
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Identify scope gaps, risk items, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities
• Prepare bid proposals and support timely bid submissions
• Coordinate with operations and field teams during handoff
• Assist with preconstruction planning, budgeting, and scheduling
• Support the team operationally and help run work when needed

Ideal Background

• Experience estimating concrete construction projects
• Exposure to commercial, industrial, public, and residential work environments
• Strong understanding of concrete means and methods, sequencing, production, and field execution
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Experience with takeoff/estimating software and Excel
• Strong communication, organization, and follow-through
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines at once
• Field, superintendent, or project management experience is a plus
