Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Position Type: Locum tenens (Travel Contract)
• Location: Hospital Respiratory Therapy Unit, Hopewell, VA 23860
• Start Date: August 4, 2025
• End Date: November 3, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:00am), every other weekend
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Respiratory Therapy (Hospital setting, average daily census 80-100)
• Equipment: 840, 980, V60, Vapotherm, Epoc
• Documentation: Meditech system
• Dress Code: Galaxy Blue scrubs

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting
• Active Virginia State License (or eligibility for Virginia respiratory therapist licensure)
• NBRC credential (RRT)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients in a 147-bed hospital (average census 80-100)
• Operate and maintain advanced respiratory therapy equipment (840, 980, V60, Vapotherm, Epoc)
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR system
• Deliver care to adult and occasional pediatric patients in the ER and other hospital units
• Collaborate with a team of experienced respiratory therapists focused on mentorship and clinical excellence
• Float to other hospital units as needed per policy
