About Wells Child Psychology
I am a small but growing autism/developmental assessment practice located in Norwood, MA but with testing locations in West Springfield, Worcester, Wayland, and Burlington, Massachusetts. I work primarily with young children 10 and under.
A Brief Overview of the Role
Under the supervision of a Psychologist, the Psychometrist performs a variety of duties involved in administering and scoring a battery of psychological and/or developmental tests in accordance with clearly defined procedures, at the request of, and under the clinical direction of, a licensed Psychologist.
You will feel comfortable working with children and their parents/caregivers with a wide range of strengths and needs, including learning, behavioral health and social emotional challenges.
You will feel comfortable scoring and inputting scores and discussing your findings with the psychologist within 2 business days.
Further, the technician maintains interview/testing rooms and test materials, and tracks test material usage.
Opportunities may also be available for training others in the practice on test administration and learning the assessments such as Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2 (ADOS-2).

Norwood, West Springfield, Worcester, Wayland, and Burlington, MA
Type: Adjunct/Part-time (guaranteed hours negotiable)
Shift Type: Monday - Friday; business hours. Weekends can be available at Norwood location. This role has a flexible schedule and options for partial remote work.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with Psychologist, staff, and parents/caregivers
- Administer psychological and developmental assessments and standardized testing to children, including children with special needs.
- Observe patients carefully before, during and after testing; records behavioral observations and reports to Psychologist any information that may affect the validity and significance of test results.
- Administer and score tests using a standardized format, Uses a normative database when converting scores. Assists in administering and completing behavior designated rating scales.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation, records, and reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain security of testing materials.
- Organize testing materials to optimize timeliness and clarity of the evaluation.
- In addition to testing at your “home” location, commuting to various other MA locations 1-2 times per month as needed for testing. Mileage reimbursement provided.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children or adults in behavioral health or special education settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with working with people with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and behavioral health issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills for working effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing medical records, intake processes, and behavioral data collection.
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least two (2) years of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
- Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or associated field of study and one (1) year of related work experience
- Certification or training in applied behavior analysis (ABA) or Psychometrist is a plus but not required.

· Paid time off will be accrued at a rate of 1 hour every 40 hours worked, plus paid federal holidays (rate of guaranteed hours/10 per holiday. You may elect to work a holiday and bank the hours towards your PTO)
