This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.

ABOUT THE TEAM
The Application Support and Automation team at Parametric:
  • We are responsible for supporting all of the production applications at Parametric. This includes on-prem and cloud based proprietary and off the shelf applications.
  • The automation team is responsible for developing and maintaining all inbound and outbound file transmissions and internal automations.


ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Production Support team acts as the front line for issues involving all business critical applications, including Parametric proprietary software, open source commodity middleware, cloud deployed sites and network intersections with hosted solutions. Qualified senior level candidates will have a passion for IT, with excellent communication and organization skills, and be capable of working in a highly collaborative and fast paced environment. Financial services background is strongly encouraged. High energy, a can do attitude, and intense curiosity is required.

  • This role fulfills issue triage for production IT operations/sysops/devops,
  • Expedites repetitive tasks for end users while working with development to deploy automation
  • Explores data stores and derives ad hoc reports and KPI’s 
  • Deploy software as part of the change and release management process.
  • Educate end users regarding new or misunderstood features.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement process by highlighting new issues to development. 
  • Investigate logs and correlate failures between applications and databases
  • Understand and demonstrate mastery of internal applications used for the daily business cycles (research, analysis, trading, accounting)

As a senior member of the team you’ll have an opportunity to craft new processes and revise existing documented workflows and aligning daily tasks to your personal efficiencies 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Triage and resolve tickets for supported systems and applications.
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise for all aspects of an application including vendor and custom built apps.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge base articles
  • Follow established procedures for managing business risk when updating production systems.
  • Create and update process automation.
  • Participate in projects that enhance or upgrade Parametric systems or employee experience.
  • Working as part of a team provide complete 24/7 support to the production environment including being a member of an on-call rotation
  • Enhance the monitoring and oversite of applications to ensure proactive alerting where possible.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 6 years of relevant professional experience.
  • 4 years experience with SQL including writing and understanding queries.
  • Experience supporting a 24/7 environment.
  • Experience with DevOps practices including Octopus, JIRA, Confluence or equivalent platforms.
  • Scripting/automation and continuous improvement experience is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills targeted to a variety of audiences including technical and non-technical users.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, social environment, yet be able to work independently as necessary.
  • Previous experience supporting line of business applications is a plus.
  • Experience supporting a Windows based environment including basic server administration.
  • Experience with Linux/UNIX based platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with Powershell or other scripting languages is a plus.
  • Patience and attention to detail is essential.
  • Financial industry experience is a plus.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $78,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
