Are you passionate about precision, quality, and continuous improvement? We’re seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector III to play a vital role in ensuring our manufacturing processes meet the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead inspection efforts, support process improvements, and mentor team members in a dynamic, fast-paced environment focused on metal fabrication and manufacturing excellence.
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
- Proficiency in using measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, steel rulers, pin gages, surface plates, and height gages
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Expertise in visual inspection of products against customer specifications
- Experience inspecting and testing both in-process and finished goods
- Ability to document inspection results accurately and generate detailed non-conformance reports
- Skilled in identifying and quarantining non-conforming products
- Knowledge of operating and troubleshooting measurement equipment, ensuring calibration and proper functioning
- Capable of inspecting and approving incoming materials to meet quality standards
- Familiarity with PPAP, 1st article verification, and developing control plans in line with customer requirements
- Experience operating FARO and Micro-Vu measurement systems
- Ability to support manufacturing teams by interpreting documentation and providing measurement techniques
- Strong team orientation with a commitment to corrective actions and process improvements
- Prior leadership experience in training and mentoring Level I and II inspectors preferred
- Understanding of industry safety standards and quality expectations
Additional Skills That Would Set You Apart:
- Hands-on experience in metal fabrication environments
- Knowledge of lean processes and project management
- Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems
- Ability to perform internal process audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required; an associate degree in a related field is preferred
- Five or more years of experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment, particularly within a continuous improvement QMS framework
Other Requirements:
- Onsite work environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and occasional loud noise
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, sitting, climbing, and bending
- Must have good vision capabilities, including color and peripheral vision, and focus adjustment
- Effective communication skills and familiarity with basic software tools like word processing, spreadsheets, and email
